I signed up for Katori Shintō-ryū—an ancient Japanese martial arts tradition—immediately after returning from Los Angeles. At the time, I had been watching an unhealthy number of rape-revenge films and becoming emotionally attached to women carrying swords.
Nearly a year later, I am somehow still here.
